I’m crazy

Filed under: General — makani @ 9:11 am

I’ve decided to take on a Metroid 100 icon challenge. This one won’t be official either since I find that too many of those lj communities have strange rules and I’d have to turn off my hotlink protection to post them. And there’s no way I’m doing that since too many people are trying to hotlink my stuff anyway.

Anyway, I made about 19 out of 100 last night. I think that’s a pretty good start. I’m worried that it will be harder to do since I have fewer really good pictures to use. I’m going to give it my best shot anyway.

Icon Update

Filed under: General — makani @ 9:02 am

I have uploaded 99 new icons to The SunTemple.
Yes, you read that right. Ninty-nine! This includes my Prince of Persia 100 icon challenge. I had two made and I used those since I liked them so much but that’s still 98 new Prince of Persia icons.

Enjoy the massive update bliss.

Inch by Inch

Filed under: General — makani @ 1:30 pm

I have 95 out of the promised 100 icons. Hopefully I’ll be able to crank out the last five over the weekend and get them uploaded on Monday. I’m not holding my breath since I have a busy weekend ahead of me but I’m going to try.

In other news, (I use that phrase a lot on this journal) it’s raining cats and dogs here. Not litterally of course but damn is it wet outside. It’s no fun to deliver stuff in the rain. No fun at all.

Go me!

Filed under: General — makani @ 10:57 am

The Badfic is done, clocking in at about 64 pages and 15 chapters. It was nice to just pound that sucker out and I may write more in the future, I don’t know. It’s fun to write a sorta kinda Mary Sue.

The icon challenge is almost done. I have about eight more to make and then I’ll post them up at my site. I’m not sure how long it will take me to make those eight icons but I’m going to try to do at least a few tonight. I’m rather running out of ideas. No sense joining an icon challenge I think. I decided on large update bliss.

The idea of the challenge helped me get some creative stuff flowing again so I may take on another unnoffical challenge to make some Metroid icons or something. It will be a nice way to fill out the underpopulated parts of my site.

If this all goes well I may give myself a wallpaper challenge. Something like make five wallpapers in a week since wallpapers involve a lot more work, (most of the time).

Note to Self

Filed under: General — makani @ 12:11 pm

If you agree to write some slash for your friend’s new comic strip in exchange for getting new strips drawn do not let it consume all of your creative energy.

You still need to write that badfic, damnit!

Just a Reminder

Filed under: General — makani @ 1:07 pm

Remember folks I need to approve your comment before it shows up so don’t comment six times and then e-mail me to ask my why its not working. (Yes random person who found my site yesterday, this means you. I still love you, just don’t do it again.)

Another reminder I’m not the hottest thing to happen to this place since they opened the coffee bar, ok? I am much to old for you, please keep that in mind. Thank you.

Who did it?

Filed under: General — makani @ 2:46 pm

Ok folks, fess up.

Who sent me three Korean CDs in the mail?

I know I was lamenting over my lack of ability to buy them but you could’ve at least included a gift message in the darn thing.

I love you, whoever it was, but can you come foreward so I can thank you properly?

More Dead Relatives I didn’t know I had.

I got more spam today. It’s funny spam.

Ok, so the original is copied and pasted directly from the email, my comments will once again be in ( ) . Interesting bits will once again be bold
From Barrister Youk Kromb. (*blink*Now there’s a name but I shouldn’t say anything, it might look strange to me but it could be the John Smith of West Africa. I have my doubts mind you.)
Senior Advocate of Burkina Faso (Esq)
West Africa .

Dear friend. (W00t! I have a lawyer friend!)

With due respect, don’t be surprised or afraid to receive this type of message from me.
Well, I am (Barrister Youk Kromb) the personal Residential Attorney here in my country Burkina Faso to (Dr.Calixto Centeno Lucuy)
(You know, if I had a relative with a name like that I would’ve remembered.) who died in event of plane crash on 19th September 1989 in DC10 plane of the UTA company, flight number UT 772, Brazzaville-Paris, may his soul rest in
perfect peace.
My late client left the sum of Thirty million five hundred thousand united state dollars ($30.5M USD) (This one gives me the flight number and everything.) in his account with Barclays Bank of Burkina Faso here in my country.

The fact and confidentially, this sum kept here very secret while nobody knows, (Starting to sound fishy isn’t it?) as he was American and governor of Kuwait Petroleum Company (I thought they were known as CEOs or Presidents but I guess you could be a governor of a company. *snerk*), he knew very well that anything can happen as Kuwait is Arab country, so he kept this money here in case of emergency. Unfortunately he lost his life in the event of the plane crash, since then, I have made several enquiries to locate any of his relatives but all my efforts were unsuccessful.

Above all, since nobody is coming for it and I don’t want this money to go into the banks treasure as unclaimed fund because the banking law and guidelines here stipulated that if such money remained unclaimed after Seventeen years (17) the money will be transferred into the bank treasury as unclaimed fund, my request of foreigner as next of kin in this business is occasioned by the fact that the customer was a foreigner and a Burkinabe cannot stand as next of kin to a foreigner. (Department of Redundancy Department.)

Confirm the crash with the website as follows: < http://assoc.wanadoo.fr/dc10-uta/> ink leads to a page in french which I ran through the fish and I still can’t make much out of it. As far as I can tell that flight went down but there is no passenger listing.) I decided to trace his relatives over the internet to locate any member of his family but of no avail, hence I contacted you to assist me in repatriating the balance of late Dr. Lucuy left behind to you as his real next of kin. (So I’m not his next of kin but I am?) For your assistance, I agree to offer you 30% as my foreign partner after the money will be transfer into your nominated bank account and 5% will be aside of any expenses during the transfer.

Therefore, to enable immediate transfer of the fund into your account as indicated, you must apply first to the bank as next of kin, by indicating your status where the money will be remitted.
You must be interest to note that I have all the necessary legal documents which we will use to backup this claim successfully. (…so why don’t you send me those so I can prove I’m the next of kin?)

All I require is your honest cooperation to enable us seeing this deal through.
I guarantee that this will be executed under a legitimate arrangement that will protect you and me from any breach of the law. I hope you will welcome this life opportunity, if so please get back to me in confirmation of your good interest to enable us starts to proceed.

I am looking forward to hear from you, to enable me send to you the text of application which you will fill-in your details where the money will be remitted and tender to the bank for immediate action. (And those would be all the details that you need to commit credit card fraud, right?)

Thanks in anticipation of your kind co-operation.

Best regards,
Barr. Youk Kromb.

This stuff just gets stranger and stranger. So the count stands at two dead relitives that I didn’t know anything about who were both multi-millionaires and died under strange circumstances in or around Africa. Dude.
